Setting your Security Phrase

This article will walk a user through setting up a security phrase on their account. Setting a security phrase adds an extra level of protection to your account.

Setting a Security Phrase on your account adds an extra layer of protection and helps us ensure we are dealing with you when you contact the Gorilla Geeks for assistance.

To set a Security Phrase:
1. Go to gus.pittstate.edu and sign into your account
2. In the search bar type in Security Phrase and select it from the list
3.You will be taken to a screen where you can Update your current Security Phrase (200 characters max):
4. You security phrase should NOT be a password.  It should be a phrase, Example: Susie loves little white dogs
5. Once you have entered the security phrase you want, click on Save Security Phrase.

When ever you reach out for support may be asked to provide the security phrase you have set.  

Note: Please do not set a security phrase that could be considered inappropriate or embarrassing. IT and other authorized administrative staff have the ability to view the security phrase you choose. If you are prompted to provide your security phrase, you will be required to correctly provide it before your request can proceed.
